The College of Saint Benedict tennis team’s season ended abruptly Friday at the hands of St. Olaf and severe weather at the MIAC Championships at St. Peter, Minn. CSB fell in a weather shortened match 5-2. The Blazer’s season ends with a 14-8 overall record.
CSB started the match slow in doubles competition picking only one win, an 8-1 number one doubles victory by seniors Megan Wrobel (Willmar, Minn./Willmar) and Melissa Kampa (St. Cloud, Minn./Cathedral).
Senior Laura Wermager (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) scored the lone singles win, a 6-2, 6-2 win in fifth singles.
Rain set in, washing out the fourth and sixth singles matches.
St. Olaf will go onto face first seeded Gustavus Adolphus in the MIAC semifinals.
