The College of Saint Benedict tennis team had little trouble disposing of central Minnesota neighbor Minnesota-Morris Tuesday. The Blazers swept every match en route a 9-0 win which accompanies a 8-4 overall record.
First singles saw senior Megan Wrobel (Willmar, Minn./Willmar) victory after a Morris forfeit. Sophomore Christine Long (North Oaks, Minn./Mounds View) cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win, as did first-year Elissa Husby (Duluth, Minn./Marshall) in third singles. Fellow first-year Amy Luther (Park Rapids, Minn./Park Rapids) battled to a 7-5, 6-1 win. The Blazers rounded out singles with wins from Kelly Blackley (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata) and Barbra Koenig (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall).
CSB kept up the pace it enjoyed in singles directly to doubles. Wrobel and Blackley rolled to an 8-0 win while Long and Luther cruised 8-1. Husby Koenig Received a forfeit.
The Blazers will return to action Friday, April fourth to Gold’s Gym for a match against University of Sioux Falls.
