The College of Saint Benedict tennis team rolled to a decisive 7-2 win over MIAC foe St. Olaf to run their record to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play. The Blazers swept all three doubles matches and saw little resistance claming three of five singles matches.
Second singles saw senior Melissa Kampa (St. Cloud, Minn./Cathedral) pick up a 6-4, 6-2 decision. Sophomore Christine Long (North Oaks, Minn./Mounds View) won 7-6 (5), 6-2 in third singles. First-year Kylie Huether (Sioux Falls, S.D/ Washington) remained unbeaten after a 6-3, 6-3 win in fourth singles. Fellow first-year Elissa Husby (Duluth, Minn./Marshall) rolled 7-6 (4), 6-4.
Doubles competition was dominated by CSB. Senior duo of Megan Wrobel (Willmar, Minn./Willmar and Kampa picked up an 8-1 win. Long and Huether earned an 8-4 decision while senior duo of Beth Yokiel (Wells, Minn. United South) and Laura Wermager (St. Cloud, Minn./ Tech) battled to an 8-6 win.
CSB will return to action next week for four matches at Hilton Head, Fl. for their spring training trip.
