Taylor Kannawin

Sophomore … Freestyle/ IM … Parker, Colo. (Regis Jesuit)

2007-2008: Taylor had an immediate impact on the team last year, not only in distance events, but in IM events as well.  After working on her starts all summer and mentoring swimmers at home in Colorado, Taylor is ready to set the pace as a distance force this year.

2006-2007: Taylor is a joy to have on the team.  When challenged to go faster or do better, she has a “bring it on” attitude….maybe it is the altitude change!  Her energy is infectious and we truly enjoy having another Colorado member of the Blazer team.  Taylor is a strong freestyler as well as a seasoned veteran of club events. 

High School: A 2006 graduate of Regis Jesuit High School, Kannawin was coached by Nick Frasersmith … participated in swimming (four years) during her athletic career at Regis Jesuit High School … awarded the Outstanding First-year Swimmer Award … member of the Regis Jesuit swimming team that were Section 4A Champions … State Qualifier in the 500 freestyle … personal best time in the 500 freestyle is 5:30.

Personal: Daughter of Susan and Chris Kannawin of Parker, Colo. … enjoys swimming, reading tabloids spenind time with friends and movies … proudest moment of her swimming career was winning the state team championship in 2006 … majoring in psychology with a minor in sports medicine.

What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? “I like the team aspect of being a student-athlete.  I really enjoy the relationships I have with the team."
