
2007-2008: After dropping 35 seconds in the mile at the conference meet last year and two seconds in her butterfly, but placing 17th in each event, Sara has the determination to make the championship heats in all three of her events. As an athlete, Sara is a training machine, always encouraging others to bring their very best to all practices and meets.
2006-2007: Sara Anne is a dual sport athlete as she competes on the CSB/SJU water polo team and the swimming and diving team. She has impressed the coaching staff already with her versatility in the freestyle events. Her dedication to both teams in admirable as she balances the commitments to academics and athletics.
High School: A 2006 graduate of Dowling Catholic High School, Baker was coached by Angie Nelson … participated in swimming (four years) and water polo (one year) during her athletic career at Dowling catholic High School … was high school teammates with current Blazer first-year swimmer Theresa Kerr … received Hardest Worker and Most Inspired Awards while on the swimming team … Academic All-Conference selection in swimming.
Personal: Daughter of Pam and Jeff Baker of West Des Moines, Iowa … enjoys spending time with friends, mermaids and music … proudest moment of her swimming career was setting a personal best time in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:47 … majoring in managemnt.
What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? “I enjoy being a student athlete because I am given the oppurtunity to continue doing something I love.”
