Mandy Buzzelli

Senior ... Freestyle ... Coon Rapids, Minn. (Coon Rapids)

2006-2007: After spending last year in Chile, Mandy rejoins the team for her senior year.  Her dedication and persistence in the pool make her a great role model for the team.  The extra effort that Mandy puts into each and every challenge shows in her improvement every year.

2004-2005: Added depth to the distance freestyle events for Saint Benedict.

2003-2004: At the MIAC Meet she swam the 500 yard freestyle in a time of 6:10.15, which at the time was her life-time best in that event.

High School: A 2003 graduate of Coon Rapids High School, Buzzelli was coached by Jaime Law … participated in swimming (six years), cross country skiing (five years) and track and field (one year) during her athletic career at Coon Rapids High School … received the coaches award in both swimming and cross country skiing.

Personal: Daughter of Carol and Ted Buzzelli of Coon Rapids, Minn. … enjoys American Sign Language and studying abroad in Spanish speaking countries … proudest moment of her swimming career was setting her personal best time in the 200 meter freestyle at 2:16.62 … Majoring in Spanish with a minor in education.

What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? “It is a great way to practice my favorite sport, it is a good challenge and I get to meet fun people.”
