2007-2008: Kelly is another member of the record-breaking 200 freestyle relay from last season. Scoring points in relays as well as individual events made Kelly an invaluable member of the Blazer team. Continuing to swim to lifetime bests is a goal for Kelly again this season.
2006-2007: Transfer athlete from Iowa State University
has great technique in the freestyle and will reinforce that event as a strength for the Blazers.
2005-2006: Attended Iowa State and was a member of their swimming and diving team
competed at the Big Twelve Conference meet.
High School: A 2005 graduate of Eden Prairie High School, Matzen was coached by Marcy Wiesner
participated in swimming and diving (four years) and competitive cheerleading (two years) during her athletic career at Eden Prairie

four-time all-conference in swimming
three-time All-State honoree
section champion in the 100 freestyle her senior year

her team participated in the state meet four years in a row, finishing third her sophomore year.

proudest moment of her swimming career was being named most inspirational her senior year as captain as well as breaking the CSB 200 freestyle relay record
majoring in psychology with a minor in pre-physical therapy.
What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? I enjoy the challenge of competing at the collegiate level. My academics are very important to me, however, swimming has been such a big part of my life that I cant imagine not doing what I love.
