2007-2008: Kelly will be in a study abroad program during the second semester, but will lend her leadership and enthusiasm to the team during the first semester.
2006-2007: Strong leader in the freestyle and backstroke events … enjoys a challenge in both practice and meets.
2005-2006: Had a successful season in her various events … finished ninth in the 200 freestyle at the Gustavus Adolphus dual meet.
High School: A 2005 graduate of Cooper High School, Trom was coached by Mike Gerads … participated in swimming and diving (four years) and track and field (three years) during her athletic career at Cooper … captained her swimming and diving team … named team MVP two years in a row … letter award winner in both track and swimming.
Personal: Daughter of Debra and Michael Trom of Robbinsdale, Minn. … enjoys running, eating, cleaning, being with friends and socializing … proudest moment of her swimming career was being a captain of her high school team and almost qualifying for state her senior year … majoring dietetics
What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? “All the new and wonderful people I meet on the team, the fact that it keeps me busy on the weekends, keeps me in shape and gives me something to do outside of my homework.”
