Kaelly Simpson

Senior ... Breaststroke/Individual Medley ... Plano, Texas (Frisco)

2007-2008: After studying abroad during the first semester last season, Kaelly came back to reclaim her spots in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 200 IM at the conference meet.  A dedicated and inspirational leader, Kaelly wants to finish her tenure as a Blazer with a berth at the national meet

2006-2007: One of the MIAC’s premier 200 breaststrokers and 400 IM competitiors … inspiration to the team both in practice and during meets.

2005-2006: Was the MIAC individual champion in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:26.18, qualifying her for nationals in the event … named Most Valuable by her teammates … earned All-MIAC honors.

2004-2005: Named most valuable team member … at MIAC Championships finished 10th in the 400 IM, eighth in the 100 breaststroke, sixth in the 200 breaststroke … also a member of the 200 and 400 medley relays, both which finished fifth at the MIAC Championships.

High School: A 2004 graduate of Frisco High School, Simpson was coached by Bruce Eubanks … participated in swimming for three years … received Most Spirited Swimmer Award along with Most Outstanding Swimmer Award … three-time Texas 4A State Finalist… NISCA All-American Swimmer in 2004.

Personal: Daughter of Heidi and Raymond Simpson of Plano, Texas … enjoys running, triathlons, arts and crafts, playing with her six younger siblings, reading, board games and dancing … proudest moment of her swimming career was when she achieved her goal of getting an NCAA “B” qualifying time for nationals … majoring in math with a minor in music.

What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? “Being able to be a part of a team that works together and has lots of fun.”
