Brittany Boegel

Senior ... Distance, Breastroke ... Plymouth (Wayzata H.S.)

2007-2008: After traveling to Guatemala for the CSB study abroad program during second semester last year, Britt is back with a vengeance to finish her career as a Blazer in style.  Britt can compete in any events from distance freestyle to IM and breaststroke events.  She looks to make her mark, as she has done each and every year, at meets throughout the season and, especially, at the conference meet in 2008.  As a captain, she is an integral part of our senior class and instrumental to the success of our team.

2006-2007: A real leader on our team, stepping into more demanding roles in the freestyle events.

2005-2006: Competed in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, 500 and 1000 freestyle … finished first in the 200 breaststroke at the UM-Morris Invitational … won the 1000 freestyle at the CSB-St. Thomas dual meet … competed in the 500 freestyle at the MIAC Championships.

2004-2005: Competed in the 100 and 200 breaststroke … placed fifth in the 100 breaststroke at the Northfield Invite to start the season … best 200 breaststroke time came at Macalester dual with a time of 2:39.41 … finished season at MIAC Championships with a 16th place finish in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke.

High School: A 2004 graduate of Wayzata High School, Boegel was coached by Dan Zrust … participated in swimming (four years),  track and field (four years) and nordic skiing (one year) during her athletic career at Wayzata … named captain of her swim team … received Most Improved and Hardest Worker Awards … All-Conference Honorable Mention … helped team to section championship for three years.

Personal: Daughter of Trish and Don Boegel of Plymouth, Minn. … enjoys swimming, running, traveling and photos … proudest moment of her swimming career  was being in the top eight in the 200 meter breastroke at MIAC Championships in 2006 … majoring in elementary education with a minor in Spanish.

What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? “I really enjoy the people you get to meet and the opportunity to balance everything in a college enviorment.”
