The Blazers started off the season with a surprise from a few of the first-year athletes who instantly made an impact to team. CSB dominated Concordia-Moorhead with a 144-54 win in their second meet of the season, and then proceeded to a second-place finish at the Macalester Invite, and went on to roll past St. Thomas and Macalester in dual meets.
At the MIAC Championship, the Blazers finished in fifth place with 311 points, two spots ahead of last years finish. First-year diver Amanda Zacher had a second place finish in the one-meter dive, posting a score of 211.7. First-year swimmer Sara Skrbec had a third place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:13:04.
Saint Ben’s swimming and diving team was honored by the College Swim Association of America for their astounding academic achievements. They were credited with All-American honors for their team GPA of 3.297, which put them 30th in the nation among Division III schools.
Skrbec and Zacher swam their way to the All-MIAC team with their strong first-year performance.
