The CSB swimming and diving team started out in Hawaii for Christmas break. The team competed in seven regular season meets before heading south. In Hawaii, CSB competed against other MIAC schools, along with Big Ten and PAC Ten teams. Highlights from the Hawaii competition came from Becky Rueter who had a second place finish in the 200 Breaststroke. Senior Amanda Kelly finished second in the one meter dive and three meter dive.
Once the Blazers returned home, they looked forward to hosting their own meet and placed fifth out of nine teams. Amanda Kelly once again led the team placing second in the one-meter dive. Becky Reuter finished fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke and first-year swimmer Katie Jermihov finished strong in the 200-yard Freestyle.
Hopes ran high as CSB entered the home stretch of their season and MIAC Championship. CSB finished in seventh place at the MIAC Championship with 218 points. The Blazers crowned three finalists in the Championship meet. Amanda Kelly took home the championship in the one-meter dive and place fifth in the three-meter dive. Teammate Catrina Burke placed eighth in the three-meter dive and Beck Reuter finished eighth in the 100-yard Breaststroke.
CSB looks forward to the future and strong capabilities of the team.
