Two schools from down south, St. Olaf and Gustavus, dominated the MIAC Swimming and Diving Championships for another season, but the Blazer squad did well in securing a fourth place finish with 315 points. This is the third straight year that Head Coach Bill Saxton has led CSB to a top four finish. The season was highlighted by competitions against larger schools including South Dakota and Northern Iowa. The team also took a trip to Arizona State during J-Term.
Senior Jessica Johnson made the provisional qualifying mark in the three-meter diving competition throughout the season, but she was pushed out the National Meet by a couple of divers that had only slightly higher marks. Johnson did help lead the Blazers through the MIAC Championships. She finished 5th in a hotly contested 3-meter diving competition. Amanda Kelly completed the diving duo finishing 5th in the 1-meter diving competition. On the swimming side, Senior Gretchen Weber led the way with a 3rd place All-MIAC performance in the 200 freestyle. Junior Krisie Melsen also had a strong weekend swimming to a 4th place finish in the 100 butterfly and a 6th place finish in the 100 breaststroke.
