After one day of competition at the MIAC championships, the College of Saint Benedict swimming and diving team finds itself in fourth place. The Blazers have accumulated 136 points, while Gustavus Adolphus leads with 196 points.
Juniors Alison Pagliaccetti (Virginia, Minn./Virginia), Kelly Matzen (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie), Brooke Johnson (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) and Becca Schleicher (Avon, Minn./Albany) scored 32 team points with a third place finish in the 200 freestyle relay. Sophomore Abbey Brau (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) grabbed second in the 500 yard freestyle. Johnson showed her versatility with a fourth place tag in the 200 yard IM.
The Blazers will return to the pool tomorrow at 10:30 for the second of three day of the MIAC championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.
