The College of Saint Benedict swimming and diving team scored six event victories and racked up 856 points to take second place the CSB/SJU Winter Invitational Saturday. Gustavus Adolphus took the team title with 896 points.
Individually the Blazers were led by an incredible performance from senior Kaelly Simpson (Plano, Texas/Frisco). Simpson won the 1650 yard freestyle, 200 breaststroke and 400 IM. In another impressive individual effort junior diver Steph Johnson (Chaska, Minn./Chaska) took the one and three meter diving crowns. Junior Alison Pagliaccetti (Virginia, Minn./Virginia) cruised to victory in the 50 freestyle.
The Blazers return to the pool for their third consecutive home meet on Friday, Jan. 18 against local rival St. Cloud State.
