The College of Saint Benedict swimming and diving team tallied five top two finishes at the Gustavus Adolphus Triangular in St. Peter. The Blazers has three event winners.
Junior diver Stephanie Johnson (Chaska, Minn./ Chaska) racked up 20 team points with a win in the three meter dive. Fellow junior Allison Pagliaccetti (Virginia, Minn./ Virginia) claimed first place in the 50 yard freestyle. CSB grabbed 40 team points when the 200 yard freestyle relay of juniors Becca Schleicher (Avon, Minn./ Albany), Kelly Matzen (Eden Prairie, Minn./ Eden Prairie), Pagliaccetti and first-year Katie Merkley (Eagan, Minn./ Eastview) took first. Matzen, Schleicher, Pagliaccetti and fellow junior Brooke Johnson (St. Cloud, Minn./ Tech) earned 34 team points by scoring second in the 400 yard freestyle relay. Senior Kaelly Simpson was impressive in the 500 yard freestyle taking second.
The Blazers will return to the pool Friday, Nov. 30 for the Division III meet at the University of Minnesota.
