With a fourth place finish in hand, the College of Saint Benedict swimming and diving team had something else to be proud of after this weekend’s MIAC Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. The Blazer 200 yard freestyle relay team of sophomores Alison Pagliaccetti (Virginia, Minn./ Virginia), Kelly Matzen (Eden Prairie, Minn./ Eden Prairie), Brooke Johnson (St. Cloud, Minn./ Tech) and Becca Schleicher (Avon, Minn./ Albany) broke the former school record in the event. The nine year record fell when the four sophomores swam a 1:37.97, eclipsing the former record of 1:38.66. The relay team will now wait to see if they receive an invitation to the NCAA championships in Houston, Texas.
