2007: Will be a depth infielder for the Blazers this spring
may play catcher at some point during the season
will bring balance to the offensive attack by batting from the left side of the plate
looking to become more consistent at the plate.
2006: Played in 12 and started in six games for Saint Benedict
batted .313 in 16 plate appearances
had five hits and scored five runs
batted in two runs during the season.
High School: A 2005 graduate of Red Wing High School, Strauss was coached Cheryl Borgen ... participated in softball, basketball and softball for four years during her athletic career at Red Wing High School ... member of the Red Wing basketball team that were participants in the State Basketball Tournament.
Personal: Daughter of Rita and Calvin Strauss of Red Wing, Minn. ... enjoys spending time hiking, canoeing, camping and skiing ... involved with Habitat for Humanity and the Outdoor Youth Program majoring in natural science with a minor in Spanish.
Proudest moment of her softball career: I proud that Im a diversified player who can play any position on the field and be a switch hitter at the plate.
