Returning six seniors from last years team, the Blazers were looking to challenge for a conference championship and play in the inaugural MIAC softball conference tournament. CSB finished second with an 18-4 conference record and 29-7 overall record, which allotted a second seed in the conference tournament.
After dropping two games to conference rival St. Thomas, the Blazers went on an 11-game winning streak before loosing the last game of the season to Gustavus.
In the conference tournament play, CSB defeated Hamline in the first round, dropped the second game to the Thommies, defeated the Pipers once again and were faced off against UST to receive the NCAA automatic bid into the Regional tournament. After nine competitive innings of play, the Blazers fell short losing 3-2 and finished second in the tournament.
Junior shortstop Michelle Boys set new team record in two different categories including hits (63) and at bats (138). Senior pitcher Ani Jordan ended her career second all-time in Blazer softball history with most victories at 49.
Jordan, Boys and senior first base Kari Dykhoff were name All-MIAC, senior right fielder Ellie Jelsing and first-year pitcher Chrsitina Gardner were selected All-MIAC Honorable Mention.
Jordan also was named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Central Region second team. Boys and Dkyhoff were named to the third team.
