2003 Season Review

The Blazer softball team experienced a year of sunny weather and games on a regular basis.  The Blazers started off the season with a 10 game stand in Tucson, Arizona.  The Blazer’s then returned home to two weeks of indoor practice and took a trip down to St. Mary’s for the first regular season game.  CSB ended the season fifth in the conference with a MIAC record of 12-10 and 17-15 overall.

Ani Jordan led the Blazers on the mound.  With her capability to throw a combination change-up/fast ball, she finished the season with an 11-8 mark.  Kari Dykhoff anchored the batting order with her power ability.  She hit two homeruns on the year and had a batting average of .360.  Michelle Boys led the team in hits with 39 and had a team leading five doubles on the year.  Both Jordan and Dykhoff were honored as All-MIAC and Boys was Honorable Mention All-MIAC

Nicole Weis closed out her softball career with a fielding percentage of 1.000.  The remaining Blazers are experienced and very able to compete for the MIAC Championship in upcoming years.
