The milestones kept coming for Head Coach Denny Johnson this season with win number 325 against Concordia-Moorhead May 5th. The Blazers finished the season in fourth place in the MIAC with a record of 15-7 MIAC (17-9 overall). First-year pitcher Ani Jordan and Junior Laura Stork led the way for the Blazers from the mound. The two combined to have the third lowest ERA in the MIAC at just fewer than two runs a game. When the Blazers needed runs, Jaclyn Worm and Patty McCabe provided them. The pair both hit for high averages and knocked in run after run. Senior catcher Angie Minnerath finished her career with perhaps her best season at and behind the plate.
In early May, the Blazer season was highlighted by a 1-0 victory over Saint Marys, the number one ranked team in the country. The win ended Saint Marys 22 game winning streak. Saint Bens softball was honored to have Jaclyn Worm and Ani Jordan named to the All-MIAC team, as well as having Angie Minnerath named to the All-MIAC Honorable Mention Team. The Blazers were helped by a great recruiting class that is going to enjoy a very successful four years at Saint Bens.
