1992 Season Review

The Blazers softball team entered the 1992 spring season eyeing what they hoped would be their first conference championship.   CSB won its first 13 games (best start ever) before dropping a well-played 3-2 extra inning affair to St. Thomas.  Gustavus then nipped the Blazers at home, before CSB bounced back to split a season ending double header at St. Olaf

The softball team became the fifth CSB athletic team during the year to be ranked nationally, coming in at 19th.  The Blazers finished second in the MIAC for the third time in four years and sixth in the NCAA Division III West Region.  They outscored their opponents 197-38, and without a doubt will have one of the pitching earned averages in the nation.

Sixth year head coach Denny Johnson won his 100th game while coaching at CSB against U of M Morris.
