1990 Season Review

The Blazer softball team posted its second straight 20 win season (23-13 overall, 15-5 MIAC) and finished the year in second place in the MIAC.  CSB opened the spring, winning eight of 10 games.  Later in the season Blazers won eight games in a row before ending the year with seven victories in eight games.  The highlight of the season was a doubleheader sweep over St. Thomas 1-0 and 2-0 late in the season.

The strength of the team was in its pitching staff and defense.  CSB pitchers had an earned run average of .975, while the defense had a .974 fielding percentage.  These marks could be among the best in the nation.
