First-year players Elle Borba (Ontario, Calif. / St. Lucy’s Priory) and Abby Richardson (Storm Lake, Iowa / St. Mary’s) combined for three home runs in the Blazers 11-8 victory over the Knights.

Borba connected for two homeruns including a two run shot in the fifth inning, which put Saint Benedict (10-18 overall, 6-11 MIAC) up for the remainder of the game.

Junior Andrea Fahey (Little Canada, Minn. / St. Bernard’s) pitched a complete game striking out three and walking just one.

Carleton (0-27 overall, 0-17 MIAC) committed six errors and were led by Emily Maland who was 3-for-4 with a double and a pair of homeruns.

The second game of the doubleheader was suspended due to rain. CSB led 8-0 before play was suspended. The game will be made up at a date and time to be determined.
