The College of Saint Benedict softball team (4-9 MIAC, 7-16 overall) were swept in its season series with Gustavus Adolphus College (10-4 MIAC, 20-6 overall).
The Blazers dropped both games by scores of 8-0 in the first game and 5-2 in the second.
In the opening game CSB was held to one hit by Callie Nelson who pitched a complete game striking out two batters in the one-hitter.
The Gusties dominance continued in the second game when they put up four runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Saint Benedict answered back with two runs in the fifth inning, but it wasn’t enough to get them back in the game.
First-year Abby Richardson (Storm Lake, Iowa / St. Mary’s) was 2-for-3 with a run scored and RBI to lead the Blazers.
The Blazers are next in action 1 p.m. today against Saint Mary’s at CSB.
