The College of Saint Benedict softball team will hold its 21st annual Blazer Softball Pitching and Catching Clinic 9 a.m. to Noon Saturday, Mar. 8 in the Clemens Field House.
The clinic is open to pitchers and catchers in 7th through 12th grade at a cost of $25 per person. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. at the Clemens Field House recreation desk. Registration may take place the day of the clinic.
The clinic will cover stretching and warm-up for everyone. Pitchers will work on form, delivery and various pitches. Catchers will cover equipment, receiving pitches, throwing and fielding. The groups will come together to allow pitchers to throw to catchers.
The Clinic will be led by Denny Johnson, the head softball and assistant basketball coach at the College of Saint Benedict. Johnson is in his 22nd year of coaching softball at CSB and will be joined at the clinic by three All-MIAC pitchers Laura Stork, Ani Jordan and Monica Eiden.
Participants should bring a glove, tennis shoes and workout clothes. Catcher’s equipment maybe shared and pitchers may bring a ball.
