Rigg and Richardson Get All-MIAC Softball Honors

Following a 10-22 overall record and 6-15 conference mark, the College of Saint Benedict softball team placed two players on the 2008 MIAC All-Conference team.

Junior outfielder Jillian Rigg (Billings, Mont./Central Catholic) was named first team All-MIAC. Rigg started all 32 games for the Blazer, hitting .309 with six doubles, 10 RBIs, a .398 on base percentage and a .970 fielding percentage.

First-year utility player Abby Richardson (Storm Lake, Iowa/St. Mary’s) was picked to the MIAC Honorable Mention squad. Richardson batted .327 with 17 runs and two home runs.

Sophomore Beth Hanson (Faribault, Minn./Bethlehem Academy) was selected to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.
