11/10/2007 - The College of Saint Benedict women’s soccer team saw one of the most memorable seasons in school history come to an end on a chilly afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Division III women’s soccer tournament. After a thrilling fight that lasted all of regulation and two overtime periods, the Blazers surrendered a goal in the finals seconds of the second overtime and watched their remarkable season come to an end against the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in Chicago, Ill. 11/05/2007 - Sunday evening provided a surreal moment for the College of Saint Benedict soccer team and head coach Kate McNeil. The NCAA issued the Blazers women soccer team with an NCAA tournament bid, less than 48-hours after taking center stage amongst the MIAC elite and losing in the MIAC Championship game to Concordia-Moorhead College in Moorhead, Minn. 11/03/2007 - The MIAC finals game for the College of Saint Benedict verses Concordia-Moorhead College ended 2-0 in favor of Concordia on Saturday November 3 in Moorhead, Minn. The Blazers (15-5-0 overall) defeated The Cobbers (16-3-1 overall) one week earlier on the last day of the regular season, but the Cobbers came prepared for the MIAC finals. Full Text…

10/30/2007 - Tuesday afternoon’s MIAC semifinal game was a battle of two hungry teams ready to prove their MIAC postseason worth. A pair of second half goals propelled the College of Saint Benedict Blazers to a 2-0 victory over Augsburg College. The Blazers had lost to the Auggies 1-0 Oct. 24, but were able to gain revenge in Tuesday's playoff game in St. Joseph, Minn. 10/27/2007 - For the second straight season the College of Saint Benedict women’s soccer team upset MIAC Champion Concordia-Moorhead College on the last day of the regular season. The Blazers handed the Cobbers their first MIAC defeat of the season by a score of 2-1 on Saturday in Moorhead, Minn. It’s the second season in a row the Blazers have pulled off the momentous upset, except this year the Blazers will be playing in the playoffs right along side the Cobbers. The Blazers finished out the regular season on a strong note, after a difficult loss to Augsburg College on Wednesday Oct. 24 which cost them a chance at a MIAC championship crown. 10/24/2007 - The College of Saint Benedict soccer team was beaten by Augsburg College 1-0 Wednesday in St Joseph, MN. The Blazers fell to 8-2 in the MIAC, but have already clinched second-place in the MIAC with 6 points. Augsburg improved to 7-3-1 in the MIAC and is tied for third place with 15 points. 10/20/2007 - Late season pressure proved to be fuel for the College of Saint Benedict soccer team, leading them past the feisty Cardinals of Saint Mary’s University to a decisive 3-1 victory, and helping them earn their first MIAC playoff berth since 2003. Sophomore Allison Tourville’s (Plymouth, Minn. /Armstrong) two-goal effort helped put the Blazers back on track Saturday in St. Joseph, Minn. The Blazers had lost their last three games and had fallen to second place in the MIAC standings before today’s victory. They remain only one point behind MIAC leading Concordia-Moorhead, who they will square off against in Moorhead on Saturday Oct 27; a game which will likely decide the fate of the MIAC championship. 10/13/2007 - For the third straight game, the College of Saint Benedict fell short in their attempt for a victory as top-ranked Wheaton College defeated the Blazers 2-0 in Wheaton, Ill. The Blazers (7-1 MIAC, 12-3 overall) lost their third straight game, but were outplayed for only the first time this season by women’s Division III defending Champion Wheaton College ( 6-0 CCIW, 16-0 overall). 10/12/2007 - For the second straight game, the College of Saint Benedict soccer team couldn’t find a way to scratch out a win as the Aurora University Spartans defeated the Blazers of the College of St. Benedict 1-0. Friday afternoon’s game featured two of the best women’s soccer programs in the Central region of Division III women’s soccer. The Spartans (7-0 NAC, 11-2-1 overall) managed to win their 11th straight game, although they were outplayed for most of the afternoon. 10/09/2007 - The College of Saint Benedict soccer team saw its perfect season fade away on the coldest evening of October. Hamline University pulled off the biggest upset so far this season in the MIAC when the Pipers beat the Blazers 1-0 Tuesday in St. Joseph, Minn. 10/06/2007 - The script couldn’t have been any more perfect for Saturday’s MIAC game between the nationally ranked College of Saint Benedict soccer team and Macalester College. The Blazers, ranked No. 22 in the nation, defeated the Scots 1-0 on a beautiful October afternoon in St. Joseph Minn., to improve to 7-0 in the MIAC and 12-0 overall. Macalester fell to 4-2 in the MIAC, 7-4 overall. 10/03/2007 - College of Saint Benedict soccer records continue to be broken by this year’s special group of players, and that trend continued on Wednesday evening when the Blazers defeated the College of Saint Catherine 1-0 in St. Paul, Minn. 10/03/2007 - The College of Saint Benedict soccer team moved up to number 22 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll. At the beginning of last week the Blazers were ranked as the 24th best team in the nation. The Blazers 10-0 has shattered previous records, to become the best start in franchise history. 09/26/2007 - The College of Saint Benedict soccer team was simply too much to handle for the ninth straight time this season, defeating Bethel University by a final score of 1-0 in St. Paul, Minn. With the victory the Blazers remain undefeated at 9-0 and improve to 4-0 in MIAC play, while the Royals fall to 4-4-1 on the season and 1-2-1 in the MIAC. Full Text…
