1989 Season Review

The College of Saint Benedict soccer team (8-9-1 overall, 5-3 MIAC) opened the eyes of many MIAC soccer programs in 1989.  In just one year the Blazers went from the bottom half of the conference standings to the top half.

Not only was CSB competitive in every match it played, but was one of the conference leaders until dropping two 1-0 decisions in the final week of conference play.  The highlight of the season was a 3-1 victory at home against St. Thomas.

Sue Pederson, Jenny Pothen and Kath Yarnott earn All-MIAC Honors.

The 1990 season looks encouraging with 12 first and second year players returning.
