Kate McNeil, head coach of the College of Saint Benedict Blazer soccer team, will travel to Frisco, Texas to coach the Minnesota 1991 Olympic Development Program (ODP) girls team at the U.S. Youth Soccer ODP National Championships.

The Championships for the 1991 and 1992 ODP age groups will be held March 7th and 9th at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas.

State level boys and girls teams in the 1991 and 1992 age groups will play semifinal games on Friday, March 7, with championship and consolation games being played on Sunday, March 9.

“It is a honor to represent our 14-state region,” McNeil said. “This has never happened to Minnesota before.”

Joining McNeil on the coaching staff is Kate Cortis, associate head coach at the University of Minnesota.

McNeil is entering her sixth year as the coach of the Blazers and holds a 60-27-3 collegiate coaching record guiding Saint Benedict to a MIAC championship in 2003. Her 2007 squad qualified for the MIAC playoffs and finished with a record of 15-6.
