High School: A 2006 graduate of Virden Collegiate Institute, Hartel was coached by Dwight Pollock participated in ice hockey (four years) and softball (three years) during her athletic career at Virden Collegiate Institute was the team MVP of her softball team her freshmen and senior seasons member of the three-time RMFHL South Division Champions Virden Institute ice hockey team.
Personal: Daughter of Nancy and Morley Hartel of Virden, Manitoba enjoys playing hockey, softball, riding horses, going out with friends and country music majoring in biology.
Proudest moment in her ice hockey career: Playing my senior season on the Virden Institute ice hockey team when I played in 59 games and had a 40-14-5 record and a .920 save percentage.
What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? I like having the balance between athletics and school.
