January 11, 2006 - The Blazer Ice Hockey team (2-7-2 overall, 2-2-2 MIAC) lost to UW-Eau Claire (5-9-1 overall, 0-5-1 NCHA) tonight 3-5. St. Bens started the game off with an unassisted goal at 2:11 by Stephanie Kendrick(Osceola, Wis./New Richmond). The Blugolds answered back with a goal of their own at 17:52 to end the first period in a 1-1 tie.
UW-Eau Claire scored the next goal in the second period off of a power-play at 9:33. CSB, however, scored off of a power-play of their own at 12:10. The goal was scored by Amanda Trusty (Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins) and assisted by Stephanie Gassert (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet). The Blugolds responded with another goal to lead the end of the second period 3-2.
The third period was a battle. Eau Claire scored two goals in a row to put them up 5-2. St. Bens did not give up, however, and Ashely Davenport (Inver Grove Heights, Minn/Simley) scored an unassisted goal at 13:27. But it wasn't enough. The Blugolds defeated the Blazers 5-3.
The Blazers are next in action on Friday, January 13 at Robert Morris. The game is at 7 p.m. Stats
