January 6, 2006 - The Blazer Ice Hockey team (2-2-2 MIAC, 2-5-2 overeall) lost to St. Anselm, NH this evening 2-3. The Blazers started off the game with a goal at 5:42 in the first half by Stephanie Kendrick(Osceola, Wis./New Richmond), and it was assisted by Amanda Trusty (Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins). St. Ben's scored again early in the second period to put the lead up 2-0. Scoring for the Blazers was Alicia Behr (St. Paul, Minn./Burnsville High School), assisted by first-years Patty King (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin Derham Hall) and Abby Milton (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove).
The Hawks answered back with a one goal in the second period. The goal was scored by Shellie Swan. St. Bens was still in the lead until the Hawks tied the game in the third period by a powerplay. Saint Anselm then took the lead after Cindy Lebel scored an unassisted short-handed goal.
The Blazers are next in action on January 10, 2006 at UW-Superior. The game is at 7 p.m.
