02/27/2008 - Senior Maggie Kinney (Woodbury, Minn.) of Saint Benedict was awarded Honorable Mention All-Conference in the MIAC Women's Hockey Awards on February 27, 2008. CSB’s Ashley Davenport (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) was selected to represent the Blazers in the 2007-08 All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team. Full Text…

02/23/2008 - After another game that could of gone either way, Hamline University got the win in an overtime struggle against the College of Saint Benedict with a score of 3-2. It was a great statement of character for the Blazers to battle it out until the end, and a good game to end on seeing the young class stepping up to even newer levels. Full Text…

02/22/2008 - The Blazers were tied 2-2 with the Pipers early in the third but the last half of that period was taken by Hamline University with the final score of 5-2. The College of Saint Benedict’s (4-11-2 MIAC, 4-15-2) senior class played especially competitively trying to get their last home-game win in their college careers. Full Text…

02/16/2008 - The College of Saint Benedict’s (4-10-2 MIAC, 4-14-2) impressive offensive strikes, scoring three goals, weren’t enough to take the win as Concordia College (10-4-2 MIAC, 10-9-2) scored one more than CSB for the 4-3 victory. The Blazers’ Maggie Kinney (Woodbury, Minn.) scored her eighth goal of the season at 7:03 in the third. From there, Saint Benedict pushed forward but was never able to get the game tying goal. Kinney is the Blazers’ top scorer and it was her second goal against the Cobbers this weekend. Full Text…

02/15/2008 - The College of Saint Benedict (4-9-2 MIAC, 4-13-2) was overcome after a nearly game against Concordia College (9-4-2 MIAC, 9-9-2) 3-2. The main difference in the close to even game was when Concordia’s Bre Bian snuck in a goal during a power play in the second. Otherwise, both teams had two even strength goals and similar shots on goal with CSB having 21 and the Cobbers with 24. Full Text…

02/09/2008 - The College of Saint Benedict (4-8-2 MIAC, 4-12-2) played against Gustavus Adolphus College (14-0-0 MIAC, 19-2-0) to finish up their weekend series but fell 6-0. CSB held off Gustavus the entire first period by keeping the game scoreless. It was not until the Blazers’ penalties caught up to them in the second that Gustavus scored. Full Text…

02/08/2008 - The College of Saint Benedict (4-7-2 MIAC, 4-11-2) put up a first-rate effort in attempt to end the undefeated MIAC record Gustavus Adolphus College (13-0-0 MIAC, 18-2-0) has this season, but the Gusties prevailed 3-0. The Blazers’ defense was remarkable at keeping the Golden Gusties to the outside and did not give up many rebounds from missed or blocked shots. 02/03/2008 - The fourth overtime game in a row for the College of Saint Benedict ended in a 3-3 tie against the College of St. Catherine. St. Kate’s was leading 3-2 late in the third but with only 24 seconds left, CSB’s Patty King tied up the game bringing them to overtime. Full Text…

02/01/2008 - The College of Saint Benedict (4-6-1 MIAC, 4-10-1) put up a great challenge against the College of St. Catherine (4-7-0 MIAC, 7-10-1) but lost 2-1 with a few minutes left in an overtime battle. CSB’s Abbie Helminen (Brighton, Mich.) made 35 critical saves this game, but at the 2:21 mark in overtime, the tables turned. 01/15/2008 - After a fierce battle between the College of Saint Benedict (3-3 MIAC, 3-7-0) and Oswego State (N.Y.) the Lakers (0-6 ECAC, 3-9-1) came out on top 4-1. 11/17/2007 - The College of Saint Benedict Blazers (1-1 MIAC, 1-3-0) came out with great intensity in the second game of their series to show Saint Mary’s University (1-1 MIAC, 1-2-0) what they are truly made of. The Blazers 1-0 victory did not come easily as the scoreless battle lingered into the third period. 11/16/2007 - The College of Saint Benedict women’s hockey team (0-1 MIAC, 0-3-0 overall) was defeated by Saint Mary’s University (1-0 MIAC, 1-1-0 overall) by a score of 4-3 on Friday evening in St. Cloud, Minn. 02/17/2007 - On an evening when the third ranked team in the nation clinched the outright MIAC Title, the College of Saint Benedict (2-9-5 MIAC, 2-15-5) women’s hockey team didn’t go down without a fight. The Gustavus Adolphus (15-1-0, 21-2-0) women's hockey team defeated the College of Saint Benedict by a final score of 6-0, on Saturday after noon in St. Peter, Minn. 02/10/2007 - The College of Saint Benedict (2-7-5 MIAC, 2-13-5) women's hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie, fighting off the Wildcats of Saint Catherine University (0-12-2 MIAC, 0-18-2) on Saturday evening at Ridder Arena. 02/09/2007 - It was a night in which the College of Saint Benedict ( 2-7-4 MIAC, 2-13-4) seniors took control of the game, scoring three of the four Blazers goals and leading them to a 4-1 victory over the College of Saint Catherine (0-12-1 MIAC, 0-18-1) on Friday night in St. Cloud, Minn. It was the Blazers first victory since December 2, 2006, when they earned a 3-2 win over St. Mary's University.
