The College of Saint Benedict (4-8-2 MIAC, 4-12-2) played against Gustavus Adolphus College (14-0-0 MIAC,
19-2-0) to finish up their weekend series but fell 6-0.
Blazers’ Abbie Helminen had another outstanding game by stopping 35 of the Gusties shots.
CSB held off Gustavus the entire first period by keeping the game scoreless. It was not until the Blazers’ penalties caught up to them in the
second that Gustavus scored.
The Golden Gusties, No. 1 in the MIAC, converted three power plays into goals. They also scored twice with even strength and once short handed.
The Gusties set a new record for the longest conference unbeaten streak with 14 games.
Saint Benedict will continue to build up more strength for their game against Concordia at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15. The Blazers will travel to Concordia Moorhead, Minn. for the competition.
