The College of Saint Benedict (3-4 MIAC, 3-8-0) was overcome by the University of St. Thomas’s offense 7-0 at the MAC in St. Cloud.
CSB was ahead 14-10 in shots on goal in the first but with 3:13 left, Katie Psimos gained control of a loose puck in front of the net and shot it in to make a shorthanded goal for St. Thomas.
The game remained in a standstill with neither teams giving up anything until less than three minutes left in the second period when the Tommies completed two goals in 19 seconds.
In the third period, UST’s momentum was at a peak when they pulled off four more goals.
The Blazers will finish their series against the Tommies on Saturday, Jan. 19 in Mendota Heights.
