After a fierce battle between the College of Saint Benedict (3-3 MIAC, 3-7-0) and Oswego State (N.Y.) the Lakers (0-6 ECAC, 3-9-1) came out on top 4-1.
There was never a break in determination or energy throughout all 60 minutes of the game as the Blazer fought vigorously against Oswego.

The first period started out with the Blazers leading in shots 10-8 but the Lakers’ Emily Grippin still managed to score at 10:28.
Within three minutes sophomore Michelle Eberhard (Roseville, Minn.) took the pace back on behalf of the Blazers when she scored an unassisted goal to bring the game back to a tie.
Early in the second period there were two penalties called on Oswego, one at 3:35 and the other at 4:27. This gave the Blazers a two person advantage for 1:08, but that still
was not enough time to break though the Lakers’ defense.
The Blazers had 38 to the Lakers’ 33 shots on goal yet Oswegos’ offense still managed to sneak in three more goals before the game ended. Along with that, the Lakers’ defense continued preventing any penetration.
Both teams aggressively hit the ice with force. Neither team held anything back. It was a well played game by both teams.
Next the Blazers will take on rival St. Thomas at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18 at the MAC in St. Cloud.
