The College of Saint Benedict hockey team played hard, but lost a 4-0 non-conference decision to the
University of Wisconsin-Superior Sunday, Nov. 4, at Wessman Arena in Superior.
The loss dropped the Blazers to 0-2 overall, while the Yellowjackets improved to 2-0 overall.
Blazers’ goalie Amanda Plumm (Lake Elmo, Minn.) had 49 saves to lead the Blazers. Superior goalie Rikki Nespor made 14 saves.
The score remained scoreless 12:30 into the first period, when the Yellowjackets’ Lindsey LeGree scored a goal, which was assisted by Kirsti Hakala. Gina Baranzelli scored in the second period, and Jasmine Pollock and Teagan Cassan both scored in the third period.
The Blazers are now looking forward to four home games in a row. They face Robert Morris College in a non-conference game at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 at Municipal Athletic Complex in St. Cloud, Minn.
