In only her second year as head coach, former CSB golfer and graduate Theresa Solarz has the Blazers golf program heading in the right direction. a year ago the MIAC recognized golf as a conference sponsored sport and the Blazers finished in fifth place among a field of nine teams. This fall CSB jumped to a third place finish in the conference race. Junior Susan Bins, Edina, MN was the Blazers top individual, earning All-MIAC honors for the second straight season during the fall. In the spring, it was the play of sophomore Jolene Amundson and first-year golfer Shelly Breen, Brainerd, MN, that kept Solarz encouraged.
CSB finished in eighth place at the Small College National Championships during the fall in Waverly, Iowa. IN their lone spring competition, the Blazers cam in ninth place at the Minnesota Women's Collegiate State Meet. The state meet was held at the St. Cloud Country Club and Wapicada.
Without a senior on the team, and with another season of experience, Solarz is optimistic about the program's continued improvement.
