1988-1989 Season Review

The Blazer golf team fared well in only their second year of competition.  Last fall, the squad opened the season at the St. Olaf Invitational and finished sixth out of 11 teams with a 359 score, only 18- strokes behind the leader.  At the Mankato state Invitational, the Blazers finished third out of six teams, ahead of St. Cloud State, South Dakota State and St. Thomas.  The Blazers concluded their fall season by placing second in the five-team UM-Morris Invitational.

CSB opened the spring season at the Winona State Invitational and finished seventh out of 10teams.  The Blazers then beat the UM-Morris in a dual meet by 15 strokes at the Albany Golf course.  The squad ended the season at the Minnesota Women's College Golf Association (MWCGA) Tournament in St. Cloud, MN.  Senior Theresa Solarz from Hibbing, MN, place fifth at the state meet with an 81-88--169 to earn all-state honors.
