April 23, 2006 - The Blazer Golf team finished fifth out of seven teams at the Women's Collegiate State meet at Becker this past weekend. Senior Kaley Kosak(Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids HS) tied for 28th place with scores of 89 and 85, giving her a two-day total of 174. Senior Megan Sand (Albany Minn./Albany) tied for 36th place with scores of 90 and 88, giving her a two-day total of 178. This was the last meet of the year for the Blazers and they will start again in the fall season.

April 10, 2006 - The Blazer Golf Team finished fourth at the Best Western Riverport Inn Classic this past weekend at Cedar Valley Golf Course in Winona. First-year Ann Dressen (Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson HS) finished in 21st with a two-day total of 189. Leigh Bartholomew (Lake Elmo, Minn./Stillwater Area) tied for 23rd with a two-day total of 193. Also placing for the Blazers were C.J. Swanland (Bloomington, Minn./ Jefferson) with a score of 206 (30th place) and Emily Olson (Baxter Minn./Brainerd) with a score of 209 (31st place).
October 8-9, 2005 - The Blazer Golf Team finished third at the MIAC Championship meet this weekend at Stone Ridge Golf Course in Stillwater, Minn. St. Thomas took first with a two-day total of 669. The Blazers finished with a two-day total of 716. Senior Kaley Kosak (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids HS) took fourth All-Conference with a final score of 167, and Senior Megan Sand (Albany Minn./Albany) took seventh All-Conference with a total of 170. Also playing for the Blazers were Ann Dressen (Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson HS), Leigh Bartholomew (Lake Elmo, Minn./Stillwater Area), Chelsea Pettit (Wadena Minn./Wadena), and Emily Olson (Baxter Minn./Brainerd). October 5, 2005 - The National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA), Division III, released the top 25 golf teams on September 29, 2005. The Blazer golf team was ranked number 20th, tied with Rhodes College. In first was Methodist College, in second was DePauw University, and in third was Gustavus Adolphus College. The Blazer golf team has worked very hard to get into this position with their previously successful meets. At their first meet at UW-Eau Claire, on September 3-4, the Blazers finished 9th. The next two meets were back-to-back. First, on September 9th, the Blazers placed 8th at the Cobber Open. The next meet, on September 10-11, the Blazer's also placed 8th at Concordia Moorhead. With a two week break, the team came blazing back and placed 6th at the Carelton Invite. Finally, the last meet the Blazers competed in was their own Blazer Invite on October 1-2. The team finished in second, behind St. Thomas. The Blazers compete this weekend at Stone Ridge Golf Course in Stillwater, Minn. for the MIAC Championships. NCGA Results
October 1-2, 2005 - The Blazer golf team finished in second place out of five teams that competed in the Blazer Invite held at the Greystone Golf Course in Sauke Centre, Minn. Seniors Megan Sand (Albany, Minn./Albany) and Kaley Kosak (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids HS) both finished with a score of 161; however, Sand took fourth and Kosak took fifth, based upon the lower first-day total. September 24-25, 2005 - The Blazer golf team finished in sixth place at the Carleton Invitational held at Victory Links National Youth Golf Center in Blaine, Minn. Seniors Megan Sand (Albany, Minn./Albany) and Kaley Kosak (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids HS) both tied for 10th place, ending with 163 after a two-day split. First-year golfer Ann Dressen (Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson HS) had an amazing comeback on Sunday with a score of 79, down from an 89 on Saturday. The team shot a two-day total of 704. The Record September 15, 2005 - The swing of the pitching wedge sweeps the ground and makes for a nice shot within feet of the cup. It is another day of practice for the Blazers as coach Theresa Solarz takes the course. It is not uncommon to see Solarz out practicing with the groups. "The challenge is trying to beat [the ladies] without the years of practice," Solarz said. She modestly brushes aside the fact that she has had much practice. Solarz was a part of the first women's golf team at CSB in 1988 and the following year was named an All-American. Full Story
September 10-11, 2005 - The Blazer golf team competed in the Concordia Invitational this weekend at Wildflower Golf Club. Senior Megan Sand (Albany, Minn./Albany) posted an 85 on Saturday, but knocked off nine strokes on Sunday as she tied the Saint Ben's scoring record with a 76. Sand jumped 13 spots from Saturday and finished tied for seventh. The Blazers shot a two-day total of 694 and placed eighth out of 16 teams. September 9, 2005 - The Blazer golf team finished in eighth place at Friday's Cobber Open played at Wildflower Golf Club. Senior Kaley Kosak(Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids HS) led the way shooting a round of 80 and finishing tied for first place. Senior Megan Sand (Albany, Minn./Albany HS) posted an 86 and finished in a tie for 14th place. The Blazers shot 365 as a team. Saint Ben's is competing at the Concordia Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
September 4, 2005 - The Blazer golf team finished in ninth place out of 17 teams that competed in the UW-Eau Claire Invitational. The team shot a two day total of 714 and had several strong individual performances. Senior Kaley Kosak (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids HS) placed sixth overall in individual competition shooting a two day total of 162. Senior Megan Sand (Albany, Minn./Albany HS) shot rounds of 89 and 85 at the invitational. The CSB golf team will compete at the Cobber Open Friday, September 9. Results
August 22, 2005 - The Blazer Golf team has started its season with team practices. A core of three seniors and a group of first-year athletes will occupy the Blazers' roster this fall. The Blazers look to succeed in both MIAC and national competition in 2005. The golf team opens the regular season competing in the UW-Eau Claire Invitational on Saturday, September 3.
Star Tribune June 23, 2005 - Ann Dressen knew she couldn't live with herself if she didn't do the right thing. And by doing the right thing, she has taught us all a lesson about sportsmanship. It's easy to get up on a high horse and preach about sportsmanship. Dressen has shown that it's even easier to follow the rules, even when it might have been so, so simple to cheat for personal gain.
