Junior Ann Dressen (Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson) led the Blazer golf team today, shooting an impressive 79, and helped the Blazers shoot a best team score of the season, a 337. Blazers are now placed 5th place out of nine teams with a two day total of 679, only two strokes behind taking fourth place from Concordia College.
After shooting a team best the second day of the MIAC tournament, the Blazers hope to keep everyone together and move up in the rankings and finish strong. “We have been on the verge of breaking through many times throughout this season. Today everyone kept together and we did very, very well” said Coach Michaud.
Sophomore Teresa Walch (Zumbrota, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa) shot an 86, giving her a two day total so far of 172. Sophomore April Dammann (Glencoe, Minn./Glencoe-Silver Lake) shot an 85, with a two day total of 177, while junior Leigh Bartholomew (Lake Elmo, Minn./Stillwater Area) shot an 87 for a two day total of 180, and first-year Sarah Hupperts shot a 91 with a two day total of 186.
The Blazer golf team finishes up the MIAC championship tomorrow morning, teeing off at 9:30.
