10/06/2007

After day one of the MIAC playoffs in Coon Rapids, Minn, The College of Saint Benedict’s women’s golf team is sitting at 7th place after finishing with a day one score of 360. “We are only a couple shots out of where we wanted to be” commented coach Michaud.

Sophomore Teresa Walch (Zumbrota, Minn/Zumbrota Mazeppa) shot the low score for the Blazers, shooting an 86, which also places her tied for fifteenth place over all. Junior Ann Dressen (Alexandria, Minn/Jefferson) shot a day one total of 89, fellow junior Leigh Bartholomew (Lake Elmo, Minn/Stillwater Area) shot a 93, sophomore April Dammann (Glencoe, Minn./Glencoe-Silver Lake) shot a 92, while first year Sarah Hupperts finished with a score of 95.

The Blazers go into day two with the hope of moving up a few spots in the MIAC tournament.
