Branigan Shines on Track, Blazers take Fifth

05/10/2008 - The College of Saint Benedict women’s track team finished the MIAC outdoor track and field championships in fifth place with a team total of 75.5 points. Sophomore Margot Branigan (Roseville, Minn./Roseville) shined on the track and took first place in the 5,000 meter run, as well as the 10,000 meter run. Branigan finished the 5,000 meter in 17:56.21, which also qualified as a MIAC season best time, and finished the 10,000 meter in 37:20.01 which also beat a school record. Full Text…



Track Fifth after Day One of MIAC Championships, Breaks Two School Records

05/09/2008 - The Blazer track and field team finished day one of the MIAC outdoor track and field championships in fifth place, while breaking two school records. Sophomore Margot Branigan took first place in her heat in the 10,000 meter, while breaking a school record by finishing with a time of 37:20.01. Branigan also set a NCAA provisional and also her time was considered a MIAC season best. The Blazer 4x800 relay also broke the school record by finishing with a time 9:28.92, taking a third place finish in the heat. Aggen finishes Heptathlon

05/02/2008 - Ashley Aggen competed in day two of the MIAC Heptathlon and finished in sixth place for the day with a total of 2,957 points. 05/01/2008 - After a great season on the green, the Blazer’s golf team issued their post season awards. First-year Sarah Hupperts (North Oaks, Minn./Mounds View) took the most improved player award, while sophomore Teresa Walch (Zumbrota, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa) was chosen for the coach’s award. Aggen competes in MIAC Heptathlon

05/01/2008 - After day one of the MIAC Heptathlon, Blazer’s Ashley Aggen is sitting at sixth place. Aggen finished second place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.39, fifth place in the shot put with a throw of 26-9 1/4 and 200 meter dash with a time of 28.91 and sixth place in the high jump with a jump of 4-0 (1.22m).
