Kaitlin Andreasen's Platform

Hello Bennies! My name is Kaitlin Andreasen, and I am running for the position of Student Activities Representative on the St. Ben’s Senate. I am a first year, and I plan to major in psychology and minor in Spanish and political science. Currently, I am the Executive Assistant on the St. Ben’s Senate. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed this experience, I am really excited to run for the position as Student Activities Representative.  The Student Activities/Leadership Development Department plays such an important role on campus, and I would love the opportunity to meet with this awesome organization and the amazing clubs on campus.

I have a true passion for the College of St. Benedict. St. Bens has exceeded my expectations and to say "I love it" is truly an understatement. Now that I have learned the difference between the HAB and the HCC and have painfully discovered the unwritten rules about riding the link, I want to become more involved at St. Bens. Through my position as Executive Assistant, I have learned so much about Senate. But, now, as sophomore year approaches, I want to have the ability to represent my peers on a deeper level.

As a Senator, I want to be the voice of the people. I want to represent each Bennie by expressing her thoughts, comments, concerns and questions to the administration, professors, students and members of the surrounding community. I am a hard worker, and I have strong time management skills. I am currently involved with many groups on campus such as the Global Aids Awareness Club, Benedictine Friends, Journey Group, the Alumni Counsel, Big Brother Big Sisters, the CSB Liturgy Team, and the Peace of Mind and Soul Bible Study.  In addition, I am extremely organized—every pencil has its place in my desk drawer, and every folder is clearly labeled in my backpack. I am so passionate about what the St. Ben’s Senate stands for.  I would be honored to work with such an amazing group of women who truly have the power to make a difference on campus.
