Erin Granlund's Platform

My name is Erin Granlund and I am running for the Public Relations Representative position on the Saint Ben’s Senate.   I am a proud Bennie sophomore studying English and Business Management.   I love my school and am proud to be a member of this community and I want a way to give back to my peers and to this college; the SBS would be that opportunity for me.  This community of women has been amazing to me these past two years and I want to show my appreciation for all the things that this place and these people have given me.

To me the SBS is more than a group of women working together to better the college as a whole, to me the SBS is a way for the students to be involved in the everyday operations of the school that they are apart of.  I have the time and am willing to put the effort into being the best senator that I can be.  To me using my time to represent my school would be one of the most productive opportunities that I would ever have. I will be here all year next year, and am not going abroad, I would be able to get to know and best work will my fellow senators and would be able to learn as I go how best to help my school. I know it will be a lot of work, up to three meetings a week for the executive board, the senate itself and the senate buzz, but I have the time to do it all.  I am not afraid to talk to people be they from The Record, from student activates or just a student with a question.

I want to be the Public Relations Representative for the SBS because I know how to communicate with people. I have been involved in competitive speech, mock trial and debate. I am an English major and this summer I will be working for the CSB media Relations department. More than my ability to communicate, I have a desire to communicate. I believe that as a Student Senate the SBS has the responsibility to explain situations and ideas to any student with a question. I desire to make sure that the SBS fulfills its reasonability to the women of this college and informs them of the things that will affect them.  I want to serve my school, I want to create an informed, autonomous, decision making student body and the best way I could help make this a reality is by being the Public Relations Representative on the SBS.
