Hello Bennies!

My name is Delthia Mckinney, a junior majoring in Biology and Economics, and I am excited to represent you as Trustee for St. Ben’s Senate!           

The Student Trustee position is one that I now hold on the Senate, and throughout the academic year I have been honored to hold such a prestigious position. Being a Trustee has truly become an integral part of my campus life, and I owe a lot of my personal and professional growth to the experiences I have had this Senate year.

I have worked tirelessly to ensure that the students’ voices are heard at the Strategic Directions Council, The Student Development Committee, and the Board of Trustees. Any administrator who has met me can tell you that I do not mince words, and that I voice the opinions of the students without hesitation. I believe that I have demonstrated the passion and the capabilities to be a part of the St. Ben’s Senate and to be a part of the Board of Trustees. I know that if elected as a senator, there is a lot of work that need to continue; both within the CSB Senate and within my personal position. My goals for the upcoming academic year are:

• To be an effective and diligent Student Representative on the Board of Trustees, where there, I will represent the St. Ben’s student body and their views on the various issues at hand.
• To be open to hearing any questions, concerns, and suggestions from the student body, and ensuring that they are voiced to St. Ben’s Senate.
• To work diligently to ensure that the students’ best interest is the main priority at CSB Senate meetings.
• To continue talks with President Baenninger and the Strategic Directions Council on the various student issues that need to be address.
• To work with the Executive Council of the CSB Senate to ensure that the meetings are both efficient and effective.

With these goals in mind, I feel that I am qualified to carry out this position competently. I am the chair of various committees and boards within the CSB Senate, and I have also held leadership and board positions in every club I have joined throughout my college life; ranging from clubs such as Amnesty International to Cultural Fusion.  I am ready to work along with The Board of Trustees to ensure that your college life one to remember!
