Hi, my name is Courtney Christenson, a first year majoring in accounting/finance. I am running for the position of Treasurer in the CSB Senate. Since I heard about CSB Senate, I have wanted to be involved in it. I absolutely love St. Ben’s and have a passion for numbers. Treasurer of the St. Ben’s Senate would be a perfect combination of my love for the school and financing.
As Treasurer, I would do all that I could to make the St. Ben’s experience amazing for all Bennies. I want every student to have the same passion for this school that I do. As Treasurer, I will also be able to use my love of numbers and accounting to improve and give back to this awesome school.
The position of Treasurer is a big time commitment, as is any job on the Senate. The Treasurer has a steady stream of work that continues throughout the year. I do not think that I will have any problems with the time commitment or the workload. I am extremely well organized and have strong time management skills. As Treasurer I would be a member of the Co Funding Board and the SBS Allocations Board, and serve on a committee. In these positions, I would make decisions that positively impacted the St. Ben’s community and represented the student body as well as possible. I would also be responsible for keeping track of accounts, budgeting, filing invoices and receipts, audit SBS, and prepare financial statements.
My St. Ben’s pride and enjoyment of accounting/finance would make me an excellent candidate. Previous to St. Ben’s I served on the executive board of my high school’s Student Council and National Honor Society. These positions will give me an excellent background in skills that I will use as Treasurer on the St. Ben’s Senate.
The SBS is an amazing group of students that I would love to be apart of. I want to give back to this community and share my Bennie Pride, by being involved in the St. Ben’s Senate. I am an organized, reliable, and friendly person, who would be glad to be your Treasurer.
