Pam Arndt & Ashley VerBurg

Fellow Bennies, our commitment to the College of Saint Benedict is seen as we currently hold positions on the Saint Ben’s Senate. Pam Arndt currently holds the position of the Saint Ben's Senate Public Relations Representative and Ashley VerBurg hold the current position of Women's Issues Representative.

We are dedicated to the improvement to the College of Saint Benedict; therefore we have chosen to jointly run for the Women’s Issue Representative Position.  Please note that Ashley VerBurg will be studying aboard in the fall 2008 in France and will begin her term in spring 2009; whereas Pamela Arndt will begin her term in fall 2008.

Although Ashley VerBurg has chosen to broaden her education through the study abroad programs, you can be assured of our commitment to the Saint Ben’s Senate and the Student Body through our constant communication during the year.

LEADERSHIP QUALITIES

 Passione about women’s issues is vital in the role as the women’s Issues Representative.  We are devoted to listening to Saint Ben’s students and promoting the image of women. We are committed to your voice as a student.  We have exceptional communication skills including verbal, written, non-verbal forms of communication.  As the Women’s Issues Representative we will strive to provide a strong voice for the women of Saint Benedict. 

IMPROVEMENTS

We would work to: 

• Ensure that accurate & timely communication occurs with the Senate and the Sister Nancy Hynes Center for Women for a successful Women’s month in 2009.
• Ensure proper communication between the Student Body and the Gender Women’s Studies Department and the impact of gender education on our campus.
• Improve communication between the Senate and the Student Body.
• Strive towards the implementation of the Good Samaritan Policy on campus and educating students on the new policy.
• Continue involvement on the Saint Ben’s Senate and the Sister Nancy Hynes women’s Center book collection currently in Clemens library.
• Provide dialogue regarding on campus housing.
• Capitol Improvements
• Continuation of the Women's Book Series that is Sponsored by the Saint Ben's Senate and the Sister Nancy Hynes Center for Women
• Replacing or adding lights/light bulbs to the parking lights around the Saint Ben's campus to ensure the safety of students
