Information for Prospective Students, New Incoming First Year and Transfer Students:

Welcome to the Residential Life Web site!  We hope find this information helpful and encourage you to explore the pages for current students to learn a little more about our programs and processes throughout the year.

This is an exciting time as you explore your options and look for the college that will fit you best. You may have already have decided to join our community at the College of Saint Benedict.  The Saint Ben’s community prides itself on extending hospitality to all and the Residential Life Staff is ready to help you make CSB your new home away from home.

Once you have paid your enrollment and housing deposit you will receive the "Steps Ahead" brochure from the Office of Admissions which will include the Housing Form The information you provide will be used to make compatible roommate assignments based on lifestyle preferences. Please make sure that you fill out your form completely and honestly as this will affect your roommate placement. Although your parents may be tempted to fill this out this form, it is very important that it be completed by the incoming student as accurately as possible. There are single rooms, double rooms, triple rooms and in some instances quad rooms on our campus.  While the majority of our housing is comprised of double rooms, you may be assigned to any of these room types as a new student.

Please keep in mind that while we work on pairing roommates as forms are received we do not finalized roommate or room assignments until July.  Assignments for incoming students will be sent to students no later than August 1st.

As a residential college, all first and second year students are required to live on campus. All first year students and transferring/readmit sophomores must complete the Housing Information form and mail it directly to the Residential Life Office in the envelope provided.

Junior and senior transfer and readmitted students who wish to live on-campus should also complete the Housing Form. We cannot process your housing assignment until we receive your completed form. The sooner it is received, the better able we will be to meet your housing needs.

If you are entering CSB this coming fall semester, your housing assignment, roommate information, a "Things To Bring" brochure, and additional information will be sent to you prior to your arrival on campus (No later than August 1st for those arriving in the fall and January 5th for those enrolling in the Spring).   You will then be able to contact your roommate and begin making plans for living together.

If you have further questions, please feel free to call the Residential Life Office at 1-800-249-9840.  We look forward to meeting you.  Again, welcome to the College of Saint Benedict!

With warm regards,
